Step three
Once you have taken action you need to know whether you are effective in what you're doing, whether you are getting the results you wanted. It is really important, as there is no point in deciding on an outcome and then doing things with your head down, never stepping back and asking yourself: is this really getting me the results that I'm looking for? If not, then you need to change your behaviour and do things differently. You have to be able and willing to change your behaviour as many times as it takes to get the results you want. It could be a changing a belief or creating a new belief.
So, for example, if your aim is to double your sales for the month and you have a belief that says you can't, you need to change your belief into ‘I can’. A belief is like an emotional muscle within your mind. If you keep accessing and using it, it becomes stronger, so start building and focusing on an emotional muscle around things that are unfamiliar to you and it will open all kinds of possibilities for you.
Remember, there is no failure, only feedback. Failure has a weight to it, it lacks possibility. Everything that happens including the results we don't want is simply feedback. It is telling us that we can adjust our choices, we can change our behaviour, we can shift our beliefs and as a result experience a different type of feedback or outcome. The perception that you cannot experience failure will allow you to explore, learn and grow much more, do things differently. You may not get the result you wanted but you still achieve an outcome which then opens a world of possibilities. Every opportunity for feedback is an opportunity to grow, to learn.
If we chose to, we can develop behavioural flexibility to keep adjusting what we do and what we chose until we get the results we want.
How we chose to experience the world is totally up to us.
It's time to stop procrastinating - you know how to create a winning mindset! Define what you want to achieve, take action, always be aware of how much progress you are making and don’t be afraid to change your strategy - and you too will start winning. Enjoy the journey!
